The IPL 2025 clash between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals held on Thursday evening at the stadium in Dharamshala Himachal Pradesh was abruptly halted after the city experienced a blackout following drone and missile strikes launched by Pakistan targeting multiple Indian locations. The Ministry of Defence later confirmed that the attack originated from Pakistan but it was intercepted by Indias air defense systems. The incident caused blackouts air raid warnings across multiple cities and led to the suspension of the ongoing IPL match in Dharamshala Himachal Pradesh. The situation unfolded with Indian defense systems intercepting a suspected drone and missile intrusion over Jammu. Following this reports surfaced of explosions in several areas of Punjab sensitive regions in Rajasthan and later at multiple locations along the western border as per military sources quoted by PTI news agency. This surge in tensions follows just a day after New Delhi initiated Operation Sindoor.
