Varanasi: Defense analyst Sanjeev Srivastava threatened a “full-fledged war” if Pakistan escalated tensions between India and Pakistan after both sides engaged in retaliation on Friday. According to him, a conflict would be devastating for Pakistan and would cause it to fall apart.

“The situation might evolve into a full-fledged war if Pakistan does so. Pakistan will suffer a great deal from this, and it could even fall apart. Pakistan’s bold actions against India have the potential to end the country’s existence. Pakistan’s authorities need to be aware of this. As of this moment, India is just reacting partially,” Srivastava told the media report.

India, he said, was appropriately reacting to Pakistan’s “foolishness” by attacking several cities in the neighboring nation and destroying their radar and air defense systems.

“India is responding appropriately to the kind of stupidity Pakistan engaged in. India’s air defense systems protected our country yesterday with outstanding performance. We have damaged their radar and air defense systems, and we have targeted several cities in Pakistan,” Srivastava stated.

According to the defense analyst, India’s Operation Sindoor attacks were a reaction to the terrorism that Pakistan had perpetrated in Pahalgam. He claimed that neither military nor civilian targets were targeted and that the strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan was reported to the world community.

“India took action against terrorists by striking nine targets in Pakistan. Following the terrorist assault in Pahalgam, India had to act, and it did so in accordance with its zero tolerance policy. India was cautious and avoided attacking any civilian or military targets. Srivastava informed both the world community and Pakistan of this action.

Due to increasing tensions in the area, a total blackout was imposed in Jammu on Thursday after sirens were heard and explosions were reported close to the Line of Control (Loc) in the districts of Poonch and Rajouri.

A significant infiltration attempt along the International Boundary in the Samba area of Jammu and Kashmir was thwarted by the Border Security Forces (BSF).

The effort was made on May 8 at around 11 p.m. The BSF Jammu posted on X that “At around 2300 hours on 8 May 2025, BSF foiled a major infiltration bid at the International Boundary in Samba district, J&K.”

The Indian Army also shot down two Pakistani drones in Jammu and Kashmir’s Naushera area, according to defense officials. During a fierce artillery battle between Indian and Pakistani soldiers, the drones were shot down.

The attacks, according to Indian authorities, targeted facilities associated with terrorist organizations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Indian authorities conducted the operation in response to the terrorist assault that claimed 26 lives in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, on April 22.
