If there was a choice of who Arsenal would like to play following their elimination from the Champions League, giving Liverpool a guard of honour at Anfield would have probably been last on their list.
While the season for Arsenal is ending in disappointment, their work is not yet done, and they need to confirm Champions League qualification in addition to finishing as high up the table as possible.
Their end to the season is far from easy with this trip to Anfield and then the visit of Newcastle United to the Emirates Stadium. With so many other top five chasing sides playing one another there is a good chance that a single point could do it for the Gunners, but they will want to win.

For this clash with Liverpool, however, there are chances to make some changes and freshen up the side while keeping it competitive as they look to spoil the party on Merseyside. While there remains little room to manoeuvre as many key players remain missing from the team, some switches should be made.
In the defence, Myles Lewis-Skelly probably endured his trickiest match since making the step up to the senior side. It is hard to be too critical when considering his age and just how impressive he has been.
That said, with Riccardo Calafiori now back in the squad, what he showed in Paris did leave something intriguing and a sense of what could have been had he been fit this season. A start at Anfield could again be another chance to show what he can offer.
Martin Odegaard remains under scrutiny despite a more encouraging display in the French capital and many have been asking why Ethan Nwaneri got so little exposure to minutes across the tie. At Liverpool I would bring in the youngster to take the skipper out of the spotlight.
Leandro Trossard came on to have an impact in France too as Gabriel Martinelli found himself widely isolated and locked away from the dangerous areas of the game. There is a chance that the Belgian could be sold in the summer and so there is also a shop window element to these final games, as is true with Jakub Kiwior who starts with the rest of the side unchanged from France.
Changed Arsenal XI vs Liverpool – Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Calafiori; Partey, Rice, Nwaneri; Saka, Merino, Trossard
