According to The Straits TimesWong shared the news on social media, writing: “Mother’s Day special: Faye’s dream of becoming an elder sister is coming true.”
The post refers to their six-year-old daughter Faye Faye, who has longed to become an older sister. In a previous interview with HK01, Wong mentioned that he and Chan had been planning to have a second child to fulfill Faye Faye’s wish.
While the announcement was met with congratulations from many fans, some expressed concern about Chan’s health, given her medical history. In 2019, Chan suffered from pre-eclampsia during her pregnancy with Faye Faye, leading to a sharp rise in blood pressure. She was admitted to the intensive care unit for observation after giving birth.
Chan also shared her experience of conceiving naturally a year ago, only to lose the pregnancy at 12 weeks when the baby stopped growing. Following that, doctors recommended in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to help them conceive again.
Wong, 58, is known for his roles in drama series such as “Point of No Return” and “Burning Flame.” He has transitioned into a career as a Muay Thai boxing referee, judge, and coach, as well as a swimming coach, according to Dimsum Daily.
