On Thursday night, the Indian Army reported that the Pakistani military initiated multiple drone and munitions attacks along the entirety of India's western border.

Additionally, there were ceasefire violations reported along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, as stated by the Indian Army in a Friday morning announcement.

The Indian Army confirmed that they successfully repelled the drone assaults and responded decisively to the ceasefire violations, asserting that any malicious actions would be met with force.

Earlier that night, New Delhi indicated that Pakistan had targeted Indian military installations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur using missiles and drones.

The Integrated Defence Staff reported that the Indian armed forces neutralized the Pakistani threat without any reported casualties, employing both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies.

In response to the situation, a blackout was enforced in various cities across North India amid concerns of potential drone attacks targeting the Jammu region. Residents in Jammu reported hearing explosions and observing missile trails in the sky.

Blackouts were implemented in areas such as Samba, Jammu, Baramulla, Kishtwar, Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Bikaner, among others.

The Pakistani government issued a statement denying any attacks on Pathankot, Srinagar, and Jaisalmer.

Following the midnight hours on Friday, India's Border Security Force announced that they had thwarted a significant infiltration attempt along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district, occurring shortly after the Pakistani military's assaults on Indian military stations.

This escalation followed an earlier operation by the Indian military on Wednesday, which targeted what were described as terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation for a terror attack in Pahalgam. This operation, named Operation Sindoor, involved strikes on nine locations.

Reports indicated that at least 31 individuals were killed and 46 injured in Pakistan as a result of India's strikes, with Islamabad claiming that civilians were among the casualties and labeling the operation a breach of its sovereignty.

Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that Operation Sindoor was executed with precision and care to avoid civilian harm, emphasizing that the action was measured and non-escalatory.

In retaliation, the Pakistan Army conducted shelling along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of 16 individuals, according to India's defence ministry.

On Thursday, the Indian armed forces reported that they had neutralized attempts by Pakistan to target military facilities in 15 towns and cities using drones and missiles.

The Pakistani Army claimed to have shot down 25 Indian drones that had entered its airspace since Wednesday night, with military spokesperson Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry alleging that these drones were aimed at cities like Lahore and Karachi.

A terror attack in the Baisaran area near Pahalgam on April 22 resulted in 26 fatalities and 17 injuries, with the attackers reportedly identifying victims by their names to determine their religion, according to police reports. Of those killed, all but three were Hindu.
