Fuel Supply Assurance Amid Crisis

In light of escalating tensions due to the ongoing conflict with Pakistan, major Indian oil companies have reassured the public that fuel supplies remain stable and that distribution networks are functioning normally across the nation.

On Thursday, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the largest fuel retailer in India, publicly confirmed that there is no fuel shortage.

In a statement shared on social media, IOCL highlighted that sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG are readily available at all its outlets throughout the country. The company also urged citizens to avoid panic buying and unnecessary gatherings at fuel stations.

The message read, 'We ask all citizens to refrain from unnecessary rush at fuel outlets. Adequate product stocks are available nationwide, and our supply lines are operating smoothly.'

Logistics and Distribution Remain Strong

Despite some regional disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict, Indian Oil has confirmed that its logistics and distribution systems have been strengthened to ensure uninterrupted service.

A senior official from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas supported IOCL's statement, asserting that there is no immediate risk to the nation's fuel security and that both public and private sector companies have been directed to maintain strategic reserves.

LPG Supply Unaffected

In addition to automotive fuels, IOCL has assured households that the supply of LPG cylinders is also unaffected. The corporation stated that deliveries are proceeding as scheduled, and there is no need for customers to hoard supplies.

Sources from the Petroleum Ministry indicated that a high-level coordination team is monitoring developments continuously, with emergency protocols established to address any potential disruptions.

Call for Calm Among Citizens

To prevent panic-driven hoarding that could disrupt the supply chain and inconvenience others, IOCL emphasized the importance of responsible behavior during national emergencies.

'Our priority is to ensure uninterrupted energy access for every citizen. Let us cooperate and act in unity,' IOCL stated.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has confirmed the activation of a special wartime fuel supply task force to oversee continuous operations. The Centre has also instructed state-run companies like Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum to remain vigilant and collaborate for the national interest.

'We are closely monitoring real-time stock levels across all refineries, terminals, and retail networks. Strategic reserves have been mobilized, and fuel trucks are being prioritized for clearance to ensure seamless distribution,' the Ministry added.
