Tata Motors is all set to launch the new and updated Tata Altroz facelift premium hatchback in the Indian market. The facelift brings fresh styling, a revamped interior, and more features. Also, this is the first big update to the premium hatchback since it launched back in January 2020. The new Altroz will continue to compete with the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza. Bookings for the updated hatchback are expected to open soon, with deliveries likely to commence shortly after the official launch.

The new Altroz facelift will retain the same powertrain options as the outgoing version, including an 88 hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission; a 74 hp CNG variant with a 5-speed manual; and a 90 hp, 1.5-litre turbo diesel paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Altroz remains the only hatchback in India that offers a diesel engine. The Altroz facelift will be offered in five variants - Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S. In this article, let’s take a look at variant-wise features.

Tata Altroz Smart

The Smart is the entry-level variant of the new Altroz and gets features such as projector halogen headlights, LED tail lights, flush-type door handles, 90-degree opening doors, a digital steering wheel featuring an illuminated logo, a 3d front grille, six airbags, and an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) for enhanced safety.

Tata Altroz Pure

The Pure comes next, it gets features such as LED headlights, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto fold ORVMS, height adjustment for the driver seat, cruise control, automatic climate control and a rearview camera. An optional single-pane sunroof will also be available, at an additional cost over the standard variant price.

Next comes mid-spec Creative, which gets all the features mentioned above in Smart and Pure. Additionally, it gets a 360-degree camera, LED headlights with DRLS, 16-inch wheels, ambient lighting, push-button start/stop, rear AC vents and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. An optional single-pane sunroof will also be available, at an additional cost over the standard variant price.

Next is Accomplished S, which has all the features mentioned above. Additionally, it gets 16-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lamps, connected LED tail lights, dual-tone colour options, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a voice-assisted single-pane sunroof, and a wireless phone charger with quick charging support.

In terms of design, the new Tata Altroz features a fresh new look up front, featuring split-style LED headlights with a new DRL signature, a redesigned grille with layered rectangular accents, and a revamped front bumper that now houses vertically placed fog lamps. From the side, you’ll spot some sleek upgrades like flush-fitting, illuminated door handles and a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels with a sporty 5-spoke design. Around the back, the changes continue with sharp, T-shaped LED tail-lights that are now linked by a stylish LED strip running across the tailgate, giving it a wider and more modern stance. Other highlights include integrated spoiler, piano black finish, front and rear scuff plates and more.

The cabin of the updated Altroz has been thoroughly reworked, featuring a revamped dashboard, added tech, and several design cues borrowed from Tata’s newer models. The layout now feels more refined and minimalist, with a toned-down gloss finish that gives it a classier look. The air vents have been reshaped into a sleeker, narrower profile, and a white LED ambient lighting strip now runs elegantly across the dash, adding a modern touch to the interior. The Altroz gets a refreshed climate control setup featuring a new touch-and-toggle interface, in line with what’s found in Tata’s latest offerings. The centre console has been redesigned to seamlessly integrate these updates, while automatic variants now come with a revamped gear selector that mirrors the layout seen in newer Tata cars.

The facelifted model also debuts Tata’s modern two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, alongside a larger touchscreen—expected to be over 10.25 inches—and a fully digital instrument cluster that can even display Google Maps. Other notable additions include a 360-degree camera and a voice-controlled single-pane sunroof.
