UP merchants declare a boycott of goods from Turkey

In reaction to Turkey’s backing of Pakistan in the face of tensions with India, fruit vendors in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, have chosen to boycott Turkish apples and other products.

Local fruit vendor Shadab Khan has voiced strong criticism, saying that any nation that backs Pakistan in its actions against India would be boycotted.

He went on to say that Ghaziabad’s fruit dealers have ceased all business dealings with Turkey and would never again import anything from them.

“We have stopped buying everything made in Turkey. Several additional fruits were brought from Turkey in addition to apples. Turkey’s backing for Pakistan prompted us to take this action. India and Turkey used to conduct business well together, but we have since cut off all ties. We will never again import anything from Turkey,” local fruit vendor Shadab Khan said.

Fruit dealer Noor Mohammed had a similar opinion, stating that they would not trade with any country that takes advantage of India and subsequently works against its interests.
