Veerendra Saxena about Shah Rukh Khan's qualities
In a conversation on Friday Talkies, Saxena spoke about their first collaboration, 'Dil Dariya', in which he portrayed SRK’s father. “You could say that Shah Rukh was like a child from my own home (ghar ke bacche ki tarah tha). His first role was alongside me, in Dil Dariya, where I played the role of his father. He was a well-mannered boy, and he used to pick me up from my house on his way to the set.”

Saxena then shared how Shah Rukh looked after him during a trip to Goa and praised his warm nature.
“I went to Goa for the first time, and I had no idea that Shah Rukh had gotten married until he introduced me to Gauri there. I congratulated him and was about to leave because the bus for all the actors was departing. He stopped me and said, ‘Your scenes are with me. What will you do on set right now?’ He offered to take me with him later in the car that was coming to pick him up.”
Shah Rukh's behaviour
SRK even ensured Saxena was comfortable while waiting for the shoot. Saxena recalled how the Jawan actor called the director to inform him that Saxena would be with him, and also remembered the time when Shah Rukh encouraged him to visit a nearby restaurant to try the fish and some local alcohol.
The 1993 film 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa', directed by Kundan Shah, featured Shah Rukh Khan and Deepak Tijori in key roles.
