New Delhi: Due to security concerns the May 8 IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala was called off. The game will be rescheduled for May 24th in Jaipur. Before the abandonment Punjab Kings Prabhsimran Singh (50* off 28 balls) and Priyansh Arya (70 off 34 balls) had a strong opening partnership of 122 runs. Arya was eventually dismissed by T Natarajan. The match also marked Madhav Tiwaris T20 debut. The IPLs official website has deleted certain statistics and videos raising concerns. Prabhsimran Singhs score of 487 runs this season including a recent half-century is higher than the 437 runs currently listed on the official website. This discrepancy could lead to an inaccurate reflection of his final run total and potentially cost him the orange cap if the websites figure is used. Including Prabhsimrans fifty-run score would create an uneven playing field as it would give him an advantage over other batters. He reached his total in 15 innings while others played only 14. The question of whether a players knock should be included in their overall T20 and IPL career statistics but excluded from IPL 2025 statistics is likely to cause unnecessary complications. Madhav Tiwari from Madhya Pradesh was slated to make his T20 debut during a match against the Punjab Kings in Dharamshala. However due to the matchs subsequent replay his debut remains officially unconfirmed. The 2002 ICC Champions Trophy final between Sri Lanka and India spanned two days. While websites such as ESPNcricinfo detail player statistics from both days the International Cricket Council does not officially maintain these records. The contributions of Prabhsimran Singh (50 runs) Priyansh Arya (70 runs) T Natarajan (one wicket) and debutant Madhav Tiwari to the match are currently under review. The Association of Cricket Statisticians & Historians (@ACScricket on X) has not yet offered an opinion on whether their performances will be fully or partially credited in the official statistics.
