New Delhi: Following a suspension due to heightened India-Pakistan tensions the Indian Premier League (IPL) will restart on May 17th. The tournament was interrupted on May 8th but a ceasefire between the two nations has allowed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to resume play with an adjusted schedule. The IPL 2025 final is now slated for June 3rd a change from the original May 25th date. The BCCI has not yet decided on the location for the final match originally planned for Eden Gardens the Kolkata Knight Riders home ground. Concerns about the weather have led to speculation that the final events location may be changed from Kolkata. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has made a late effort to keep the hosting rights for the final match. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that weather forecasting for June 3rd is unreliable citing reports from regional sources and the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAB) reportedly objects to shifting matches and the IPL final from Kolkata due to weather forecasts deeming the decision unfair. We remain confident that things will work out because we have done a very good job in organising everything. Also you cant predict weather patterns so early and we have submitted all official documents to this effect the report said. The Indian Premier League will resume on May 17th with a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in Bangalore. Revised scheduling for league matches designates Bengaluru Jaipur Delhi Lucknow Ahmedabad and Mumbai as the six host cities. Playoff locations will be revealed at a future time.
