Doordarshan was among the most prominent TV channels in the 1980s and 1990s. The channel became quite famous for its mythological shows- one of them was Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana which was widely enjoyed by masses. In that time the key actors of the show were the talk of the town. However with the passage of time and new generations coming in they faded into oblivion. Today we will talk about one such actor who played the character of Angad on Ramanand Sagars epic television series. His name is Bashir Khan. He rose to fame after his prominent role of Angad- who was the son of Vali and Tara on the show. One of his scenes as Angad which is till date remembered by viewers is when he stood firmly in Ravans court daring anyone to movie him. The whole scene reflected his portrayals determination strength and commanding presence. Who is Bashir Khan and where is he now? Apart from Ramayana Bashir Khan also starred in other classic mythological shows including B.R. Chopras Mahabharat (1988) and Shri Krishna (1993). His performances left a lasting impact in Indian Television industry and carved a special place in audiences hearts. Bashir Khan began his acting career through Ramanand Sagar’s popular show at the time Vikram Betal. However the recognition he got was after portraying the character of Angad in Ramayana with many till date remembering his contributions to the classic series. Well there hasnt been much information available about his current whereabouts. According to reports Bashir is still looking for such breakthrough roles where he can prove his mettle as an actor. After watching his performances in iconic mythological shows- like Ramayana and Mahabharat it is surely to be believed that this actor posses a bundle of talent and we would love to watch him more on-screen.
