According to Yahoo! Life Singaporeat the premiere of his new film “A Gilded Game,” Lau was asked about Wong’s May 4 video, which detailed the challenges the actor faced dating.

“I don’t mind. Everybody knows,” Lau said calmly.

When questioned about the authenticity of Wong’s revelations, Lau added: “Every actor is like this.”

In his video, Wong revealed that during their courtship, Lau and Chu had to meet in remote locations to avoid recognition and sometimes went months without seeing each other, occasionally meeting only once a year.

Wong also highlighted Chu’s unwavering trust and sacrifices, noting that despite Lau working alongside many beautiful actresses, he remained loyal to Chu throughout their relationship—a trust that has been fundamental to their bond.

Lau, 63, is regarded as one of the “Four Heavenly Kings” of Cantopop, alongside Aaron Kwok, Jacky Cheung, and Leon Lai—male singers who dominated the 1990s pop culture scene.

Chu, 59, reportedly comes from a wealthy family known for owning a seafood restaurant, according to Jayne Stars.

The couple married in 2008 and has since maintained a private personal life.

The Straits Times reported that Lau invested 100 million Malaysian ringgit (US$23.2 million) in a private jet to safeguard Chu’s annual trips to her hometown of Penang. He has also hired four bodyguards and three nannies to ensure the safety and privacy of his wife and daughter.
