Kaun Banega Crorepati has been one of the iconic quiz shows loved by the audience. Except for its third season KBC has been hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. However now as per reports KBC 17 which will be the upcoming season of the show will not be hosted by Amitabh Bachchan but another actor. While many may think that Shah Rukh Khan who hosted the third season of the quiz show will now host the 17th season — let us tell you he is not the person. In a major shake-up reports claim that Amitabh Bachchan has stepped down from the position of host due to his personal reasons. While Sony TV is yet to confirm the report speculations that are making noise claim that it will be Salman Khan who will replace Big B as the new host for Season 17. As per a report by Bollywood Hungama Bhaijaan of Bollywood – Salman Khan is in talks with the makers of the show and once everything goes as planned then Salman who dominated the small screen with his reality show Bigg Boss will associate his name with KBC. A source quoted in the report stated “Salman is the king of the small screen and has a strong connect with the audience in smaller centres. If everything goes well he could take the show by storm.” Interestingly just a few weeks earlier Sony TV had shared a promotional video on April 4 featuring Amitabh Bachchan teasing his return. The promo showed Big B as a patient who had a stomach ache playfully suggesting the return of the show. Not only that he encouraged fans to register via SonyLIV. It will be interesting to see if Salman replaces Amitabh in the show or not. KBC Season 17 is expected to start in August 2025.
