A Britain's Got Talent finalist has reflected on what the life-changing prize money could mean for him, admitting he's not sure he's had more than £500 in his bank account before, let alone £250,000.
Vinnie McKee wowed judges during the first audition of this series, stunning KSI, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon with his powerful voice.
The Scottish singer performed an operatic cover of The Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles), and had media mogul Simon so impressed that Vinnie was awarded the Golden Buzzer, soaring him straight through to the live shows.
Tearing up, he commented: "Things like this don't happen to people like me."
Holiday park worker Vinnie is now one of eight acts who have secured a place in the final after receiving votes from the public.
When asked in a new interview what he would spend the £250,000 prize money on, Vinnie admitted he'd "never thought about it" and predicted he could even "pass out" from the shock.
He told Yahoo!: "I don't think I've had any more than £500 in my bank."
The 30-year-old went on to reveal the difficult year his family has faced after the death of his brother, and the support he's had from his parents.
He continued: "My mum is my best friend, and my dad is my best friend. We are such a close family. They're 70 this year. So I would probably get them a wee apartment so they don't have to use their pension to pay their rent anymore."
Reflecting on how his life has transformed since his Britain's Got Talent audition, Vinnie called the variety show "the most incredible experience in my life," adding: "I hope it never ends now."
He added: "Life is so short, my brother passed away last May and it broke the family a little bit."
Vinnie recalled his mum urging him to apply for Britain's Got Talent after the family heartbreak, and said of his Golden Buzzer moment: "It was a whole turnaround moment.
"When the confetti fell on stage, I looked up to the sky and I just thought to myself: "Thanks for that." He was watching me that day."
Britain's Got Talent airs Saturday at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
