Darbhanga hopes that IIT Delhi will submit its DPR soon and that the site would get a ring bundle for flood protection

Update from AIIMS Darbhanga: The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Darbhanga campus is expected to be submitted in two months; therefore, work has already started on the project. IIT Delhi has been given the responsibility by the government to prepare the DPR for AIIMS Darbhanga. According to Jagran.com, the news was revealed at a recent high-level meeting between Central Government representatives and state authorities.

The area has been designated for AIIMS Darbhanga, and pillars are being built to delineate the limits, according to General Manager Project Subhash Sharma, a representative of the Central Government’s construction agency HSCC (India). Boundary work will come next, and bids have already been received for this task.

According to the report, the Water Resources Department’s Principal Secretary, who attended the discussion, suggested building a ring dam around the purchased property to shield the AIIMS site from flooding and waterlogging.

AIIMS Delhi is ready to proceed with a solid strategy and plan now that IIT Delhi is a member of the project.

According to Subhash Sharma, around 5 meters of earth filling are needed on the ground designated for the development of Darbhanga AIIMS. He was told by the state government official that the soil filling project has been approved for Rs 309.29 crore.

A certificate of no objection has been granted by the Water Resources Department to use silt from neighboring rivers for the filling project.

A grid station and electricity substation for AIIMS Darbhanga were also mentioned during the conference in addition to these initiatives. The grid station is anticipated to cost over Rs 347 crore, while the electricity substation is likely to cost around Rs 11.67 crore.

To increase connectivity, a four-lane bypass is being built in Sobhan, according to the Road Construction Department. In order to provide a water supply to the AIIMS site, a pump building will also be built.

The construction company is called HSCC India Limited.

An estimated Rs 1,261 crore would be spent.
