Whenever we buy a new smartphone, our focus goes on camera, battery and processor. But have you ever wondered why the phone has more than one microphone? Is not the same microphone enough?

Actually, your smartphone has two or more microphones – and there is a special reason behind it.

Why are two microphones necessary in the phone?
When you call or record the voice, not only your voice, the surrounding noise is also captured in the microphone. If the phone has only one microphone, it sends both your voice and background noise. This does not clear your voice to the front.

The role of another microphone comes here. The second microphone mainly catches background noise. Then the phone’s processor makes a difference between these two voices and removes the noise and sends your clean voice to the other side.

Where are the microphones in the phone?
The first microphone is near the bottom, near the speaking place.

The second microphone is upwards or near the camera, which captures the surrounding noise.

Some premium smartphones also have a third microphone, which captures 3D audio during video recording.

What is the benefit of this technique?
Your voice reaches clear and clear during the call.

In video recording, the quality of the audio is tremendous.

Google Assistant and Siri understand you better.

Your point is also clearly heard in crowded places.

What do Google Assistant and Siri do?
They are voice-based digital assistants.

Google Assistant is found in Android phones.

Siri is in Apple’s iPhone, iPad and Mac devices.

You can ask them questions and they answer you, like –
“How is the weather today?” Or “When is my next meeting?”
