The renowned Monaco Grand Prix is next on the F1 calendar with the event set to take place this Sunday. The glamorous location is also home to one of the sport's most beloved stars, . The 27-year-old, known for his youthful good looks and down-to-earth charm, may not have won the Drivers' Championship yet, but he has certainly won hearts since joining Ferrari in 2019.

Leclerc was runner-up in the Championship in 2022 and has claimed victory in eight Grand Prix races across eight seasons. However, the current campaign has proved challenging thus far aloingside seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. As Leclerc enters a pivotal stage of his career, having signed a contract extension with the Prancing Horse in early 2024, we delve deeper into the life of the Monegasque star.

Royal family links

Such is Leclerc's status in his birthplace, he was selected by HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco to join the ranks of the Ambassadors of Her Foundation. Princess Charlene is the wife of Prince Albert II, who has been reigning since 2005.

Since receiving this honour, Leclerc has had several encounters with Monaco's Royal family. In May 2024, Leclerc achieved a lifelong dream when he clinched victory in the Monaco Grand Prix.

Prince Albert joined Leclerc on the podium as the national anthem of Monaco resonated throughout the Circuit de Monaco. Following the ceremony, the 27-year-old driver further solidified his connection with the Principality's Royal Family by accompanying them to the balcony, where he and Prince Albert celebrated with champagne.

Additionally, Leclerc had the privilege of dining at the Grimaldi Palace after his victory. In Monaco, Leclerc is also regarded as a hero. He, along with six other prominent figures from the region, including the Royal couple, had the honour of carrying the eternal Olympic flame as it passed through the Principality prior to the Paris Games.

Interestingly, Leclerc shares a connection with the British Royal Family, being signed to the same talent agency as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. On occasion, Prince Harry has been spotted attending races, although it remains unclear whether the two have a personal friendship.

Despite his associations with glamorous individuals and Monaco's reputation as a haven for millionaires, Leclerc has spoken about his relatively modest upbringing. "My grandfather had quite a big plastic industry," he said. "My parents aren't particularly rich, my grandparents were a little bit, so they were helping us pay for the hotels."

Tiktok star girlfriend

The Ferrari driver has been in a relationship with TikTok star Alexandra Saint Mleux for two years, with the couple first being linked in March 2023. Leclerc confirmed their relationship just two months later during an interview.

Art history student and social media sensation Alexandra, who has two million Instagram followers, has been showcasing her modelling credentials, recently starring in a high-profile campaign for Hailey Bieber's Rhode.

The couple, now an item in the public eye, are regulars at various sporting events, where Alexandra can often be seen supporting her beau from the stands. Together, they have a young puppy named Leo.

His salary

As for his pay packet, by March 2025 Leclerc has ascended to become the third highest earner in Formula 1, pocketing £25.2million ($34m) last season. Yet he's trailing behind Hamilton who, after his move to Ferrari, now enjoys a colossal yearly salary of £44.5m ($60m), nearly doubling Leclerc's earnings.

Before the start of the season, a confident Leclerc claimed he was "ready [to win] the championship", but 2025 has been anything but easy for the Ferrari drivers, with a solitary podium spot between them across seven main races, which came after Leclerc secured third at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Amidst these competitive challenges, Leclerc's net worth is reputedly nearing £93m according to Racing News 365. Although not officially confirmed, lucrative sponsorships and endorsements from globally recognised brands such as Richard Mille, PUMA, Ray-Ban, Giorgio Armani and EA Sports have likely padded out Leclerc's finances substantially.
