Six new coronavirus infections have been identified in Patna, the capital of Bihar, including among medical staff at AIIMS-Patna, raising new worries about the Covid-19 recurrence.
Hospitals around the state are on high alert in response to the most recent rise, and preventative measures are being promptly restored.
A female physician, a female nurse, and another AIIMS-Patna staff member are among the newly affected; they are all now receiving treatment under the guidance of top physicians.
A 42-year-old male from the RPS Mod area had a test done at a private lab in Raja Bazar, and two other patients at Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) have also tested positive.
Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh, a civil surgeon, reports that there are now nine ongoing Covid-19 cases in the city.
Six of them are under home isolation, and three have been admitted to the hospital.
Hospitals are beginning to prepare for a potential increase in cases in reaction to the uptick.
Superintendent Dr. Manish Mandal of IGIMS said that three intensive care unit beds and twelve oxygen-supported beds had been set aside specifically for COVID-19 patients.
For prompt treatment and attention, a medical team known as the Quick Response Team has also been sent.
According to Superintendent Dr. Prof. Rashmi Prasad, NMCH is also getting ready to open a new 100-bed prefabricated Covid-19 ward in order to guarantee prompt treatment in the event that infections continue to increase.
Speaking on the subject, Health Minister Mangal Pandey informed the public that, in accordance with WHO rules, the new Covid-19 subvariants that have been detected in India are not lethal.
Panic is not necessary. State hospitals have fully operational testing and treatment systems, and the Health Department is equipped to manage any crisis,” he told reporters.
According to a Health Department advice, individuals should wear masks, particularly in crowded public places, and be checked right away if they have symptoms like a cold, cough, fever, or body pains.
Medical facilities have been directed to enhance vigilance and guarantee preparedness, and districts outside of Patna have also been placed on notice.
In order to prevent any further spread, officials are calling for public engagement and respect to health recommendations as Bihar approaches a potentially crucial phase in the ongoing battle against COVID-19.
