The Uttar Pradesh government has designated special secretary-level officials as nodal officers to undertake a three-day inspection trip in an effort to link underdeveloped development blocks with the mainstream and evaluate the actual conditions of government programs. The exercise is planned for May 30–June 1 and will include 108 aspirational development blocks in 42 districts.

This initiative’s main goal is to assess the actual effects of development plans that are stated on paper and confirm whether or not they have really benefited the local community. Nodal officers will assess if the desired improvements are being felt in these blocks and whether services are being provided in a timely and high-quality manner.

Officers will visit important establishments such as schools, health facilities, Anganwadi centers, and Gram Sachivalayas as part of their inspection to evaluate the infrastructure and resource availability and quality.

On May 28, all nodal officials will attend a one-day training session at Yojana Bhawan prior to the field visits. In order to prepare officers to properly assess ground realities and report efficiently, the training will include digital dashboard use, data interpretation, effective monitoring procedures, and the Chief Minister’s Fellowship Program.

Nodal officers will collaborate with Chief Development Officers and District Magistrates to examine current development projects throughout the visit. Additionally, they will assess regional tactics and the efforts of young people sent out under the Chief Minister’s Fellowship Program. Officers will also closely examine how incentive monies authorized for different programs are being used.

In order to strengthen its commitment to inclusive growth in Uttar Pradesh, the government launched this inspection in May 2022 as part of an ongoing endeavor to identify and expedite improvement in aspirational blocks with subpar social and basic circumstances.
