Presenter Tanay Tiwari of the Indian Premier League has disclosed how Rohit Sharma rescued his fledgling career by disregarding a coffee spill incident that happened during an interview with a very little table between them. Tiwari acknowledges that Rohit handled it in stride and didn’t make a big deal out of it.

Tiwari’s description of the situation confirms Rohit’s reputation for having a nice manner.

Tiwari described an instance in which Rohit may have been expected to get angry at him, but he chose not to.

I unintentionally spilled hot coffee on him when I was an intern with the Mumbai Indians. Speaking on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Tiwari said, “I was interviewing him and it was a really small ttable ith a camera and in a hurry, I spilled the coffee.”

A member of his team was there, and she gave me a lot of reprimands. In 2017, I was 21 years years old. I thought my career was ended before it had started, and I was on the verge of tears,” Tiwari said.

The presenter said how Rohit just advised him to move on from the incident without paying any attention to it.

“Jaane de yaar, baccha hai (let it go, he’s a kid).” “You ask your question; don’t worry, it’s just coffee that has spilled.” At that time, he rescued my career,” Tiwari said.

I’ve told him quite a few times. When I met him, all I could say was “thank you.” You probably don’t realize how much joy you’ve brought to so many different people, I told him, Rohit bhai,” Tiwari said.

On May 7, Rohit declared his retirement from Test cricket; as of right now, ODIs are the only format in which he is still playing internationally.

Currently playing for Mumbai in the 2025 Indian Premier League, Rohit has amassed 329 runs at an average of 27.41 in 13 games, including three fifties.

The Gujarat Titans, this season’s eliminator, will be MI’s next opponent on Friday at Mullanpur. Similar to this season, they finished fourth on the points table in the IPL 2023; however, this is their best result since then.
