Renault is gearing up to refresh its vehicle lineup in India, which includes plans for a new Duster facelift. Recently, Team BHP shared fresh images of the upcoming Kwid, which has been spotted undergoing tests in the country.
The latest version of the Kwid is expected to be an electric vehicle (EV). A recent sighting at Chennai airport revealed a Kwid EV with less camouflage, showcasing its distinctive Y-shaped tail lights, a rear wiper, and steel wheels. This model was first seen in August of the previous year.
The new Kwid EV made its international debut as the Dacia Spring. It is likely that this model will be rebranded as a Renault for the Indian market. The Kwid, or Spring, is available globally with various battery and EV powertrain options. The entry-level variant features a 44BHP electric motor, while higher-end models boast a 64BHP unit, both powered by a 26.8 KWH battery, providing a range of 220 kilometers.
There is a possibility that the Dacia Spring will be introduced as the new version of the Renault Kwid in India. In international markets, the Dacia Spring is available in both 65HP and 45HP versions. The 65HP variant offers a range of 140 miles and can charge from 20% to 80% in just 45 minutes, delivering a maximum output of 48KW.
The 45HP variant provides a range of 140 miles with a maximum power output of 33KW and can fully charge from 20% to 100% in under five hours. Both versions are expected to feature V2L technology. It is also possible that the Kwid will be available in both ICE and EV variants.
