Cape Town, May 29: An all-party delegation, spearheaded by NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, engaged in significant discussions with South African officials in Cape Town, reaffirming India's steadfast and collective stance against terrorism.

This visit is part of India's broader initiative to raise awareness regarding the Pahalgam terror attack that occurred on April 22, as well as Operation Sindoor, which represents India's strategic military response.

As per a statement from the Indian High Commission in Pretoria, the delegation met with South African Deputy Minister Kenneth Morolong, where they articulated India's counter-terrorism strategy, emphasizing the need for accountability for both terrorists and their supporters through swift and decisive measures.

The Deputy Minister recognized the importance of the discussions and promised to relay the information to the South African Presidency, as reported by the Indian mission.

Additionally, the delegation engaged in a comprehensive dialogue with John Steenhuisen, the Leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) and Minister of Agriculture, along with other senior members of the DA.

According to the High Commission, the DA expressed its solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam attack and endorsed India's commitment to combat cross-border terrorism.

Another significant meeting took place with the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, chaired by Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo.

During this session, Indian parliamentarians detailed the Pahalgam terror incident and stressed that Operation Sindoor was a targeted and non-escalatory measure aimed at addressing the threats posed by cross-border terrorism.

The visit commenced with a respectful meeting led by P. (Les) Govender, Deputy Chairperson of South Africa's National Council of Provinces (NCOP), which began with a moment of silence to honor the victims of the Pahalgam attack.

The delegation, led by Sule, underscored India's unified stance and zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. NCOP members expressed their solidarity with India and condemned terrorism in all its manifestations.

Prior to these engagements, the delegation met with members of the Indian community in Johannesburg.

"The all-party delegation, led by MP Supriya Sule, engaged with the Indian community in South Africa, highlighting India's national consensus and collective determination against terrorism in all its forms. They praised the Indian diaspora's unwavering support in the fight against terrorism," the Indian High Commission shared on X.

The delegation includes BJP leaders Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Anurag Thakur, and V. Muraleedharan, Congress leaders Manish Tewari and Anand Sharma, Telugu Desam Party's Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Aam Aadmi Party leader Vikramjeet Singh Sawhney, and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin.

This delegation is part of India's global diplomatic outreach to emphasize the importance of Operation Sindoor and the ongoing battle against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism, following a successful visit to Qatar.
