The South Industry lost another shining star today.
Senior actor, teacher and successful businessman Rajesh Williams died in Chennai on the morning of 29 May 2025. He was 75 years old.

Rajesh Williams left a deep impression in hundreds of films and TV serials in Tamil and Malayalam cinema.
From Hero to strong supporting characters, he made his own identity in every role.

suddenly deteriorated, passed before reaching the hospital
Talking to DT Next, his nephew said that Rajesh had complained about low blood pressure on Thursday morning.
The family was immediately taking him to the hospital, but on the way he breathed his last.

He is survived by daughter Divya and son Deepak. Deepak stepped into films in 2014.
Rajesh’s wife Joan Sylvia Vanatiyar died in 2012.

Rajinikanth expressed deep mourning – “My friend is gone”
The news of Rajesh Williams’ death also shook superstar Rajinikanth.
He wrote on social media:

“I am very surprised and sad to hear the news of my sudden death of my friend Rajesh. He was a very good person. God give peace to his soul. Consade his family and friends with my heart.”

Rajesh and Rajinikanth together worked together in films like ‘Thai Varu’, ‘Billa’ and ‘Theinaktu Raja’ and both were considered as an example in the friendship industry.

Rajesh Williams: A name in acting, education and business
Rajesh was born in Mannargudi (Thiruvarur).
He was a teacher in a high school from 1972 to 1979.
He started acting in 1974 with ‘Aval Oru Thodar Kathai’ and appeared as a hero in the film ‘Kanni Paruvathile’ in 1979.

Rajesh in 1984 director K.K. Also acted in Balachander’s famous film ‘Achmilai Achmilai’.
Apart from this, he also appeared in TV shows like ‘Kartigai Deepam’.

Last appeared in ‘Merry Christmas’
Rajesh Williams was last seen in Vijay Sethupati and Katrina Kaif’s film ‘Meri Christmas’, in which he played the role of ‘Om Uncle’.

Not only an actor, Rajesh was also a successful businessman
Apart from films, Rajesh also worked in hotels and real estate businesses and started being counted among the top builders in Chennai.
