can be an absolute nightmare to tackle. It is one of those tasks that can seem impossible to get done, regardless of how many strong cleaning products you use, and it's even worse for those who prefer not to use harsh chemicals around their home when doing any sort of .
Whilst the struggle of getting rid of those toilet bowl stains is a great challenge, there is one solution that is bound to make the task much more simple. This surprising hack ticks both the efficency and budget-friendly box, providing a cheap and great way to .
Now, most people have used cola to clean old coins, but the drink works just as well when it comes to cleaning your bathroom, and a two-litre bottle can be bought for as little as 49p in Lidl.
Cleaning company, broke down just why the drink is the ultimate toilet cleaner, explaining that the combination of phosphoric and carbonic acid, as well as their "gentle power" works to lift stains without damaging the toliet.
It added: "The carbonic acid that is in the coke is what helps to clean toilet stains. Picture the acidity slowly working its way through the stains, melting them away."
The first thing you want to do when using coke to clean toilet stains is make sure your ball valve is secure to stop so that your toilet bowl has minimum water in it.
The next thing to do is simply just pour in the coke. The water dilutes the power of the carbonic acid, so the more water in the bowl, the more coke you will need. However, the cleaning experts at Purdy & Figg recommend a litre of coke as a minimum.
Now, depending on how stubborn the stain is you can wait between two hours and leaving it overnight, and once time is up, unhook the ball valve and allow it to float, to fill up your cistern and then flush.
Now that the coke is flushed, just grab your toilet brush and start scrubbing. If after intense scrubbing you still find that there are some stains, heat a little bit of the drink in the microwave. This will get the chemical bubbling and make it "more powerful" to remove the final stains.
Once you're done, it is important that you flush the toilet again to remove all of it from the bowl.
