Jharkhand: Former MLA Sita Soren in Dumka district of Jharkhand has filed a case of withdrawal of lakhs of rupees by fake signature against his former personal assistant Devashish Manoranjan Ghosh. The case is to financial irregularities during the 2024 assembly elections.
Sita Soren has alleged in her application that she appointed Devashish Manoranjan Ghosh, a resident of Jagannathpur in Ranchi, as a personal assistant. When he sought accounts after the election, he kept on deferring. When investigation was done, it was found that crores of rupees have been withdrawn from his accounts through fake signatures. According to the complaint, fake signatures have been found in the checkbook.
Sita Soren also alleged that the party funds have also been scammed in the election, causing her trouble in election management. He said that before the election, Devashish had a minor amount in his account, but during the election, he had a transaction of sabotage in his account. Along with this, he has also bought a large car and gold jewelery from Bengal. There have also been irregularities in the financial support from the party.
According to the report lodged in the city police station, the police have registered a case and started investigation. Further action will be taken only after investigating the case. SP Pitambar Singh Kherwar said that appropriate action will be taken only after the investigation is completed.
