The online world has once again been a victim of a big cyber attack. Private information of about 18 crore 40 lakh users has been leaked in this big data breech in America. The leaked data includes sensitive details such as email ID, password and direct log-in links.
Cyber security expert Jeremia Fauler detected an unsafe database, which was publicly available online. This database was associated with many legendary companies-Apple, Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Microsoft-as well as banking portal, Crypto wallet and government services.

Passwords were usually encrypted in the previous data breech, but this time plane-text passwords have appeared. Not only this, the presence of direct log-in links has further increased the danger, so that hackers can reach the accounts of users without entering passwords.

According to the report, this database was possibly hosted on platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure, where security settings missed. According to an IBM report, last year’s 82% of data was associated with Breach Cloud, the main reason for the wrong access control.
