India’s national airline, Indian waterand Iceland’s flag carrier, Icelandair, have teamed up in a new codeshare partnership.

This deal makes it easier for travellers to move between India and Iceland, offering smooth connections on 15 different routes across India and Europe.

What This Partnership Means for Passengers

This new agreement improves travel and trade between the two countries by giving passengers more choices and easier journeys. It promises convenient connection times, shared baggage allowances, and better links via major European airports.

The codeshare deal was signed during the 81st IATA Annual General Meeting in New Delhi.

How the Codeshare Works

• Air India passengers can now book flights to Reykjavik (Iceland’s capital airport code KEF) on Icelandair planes, connecting through Air India’s European gateways. Air India’s code ‘AI’ will appear on Icelandair flights between Reykjavik and major European cities like London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Milan, and Zurich.
• Icelandair customers get easier access to key Indian cities by flying on Air India-operated flights. Icelandair’s code ‘FI’ will be used on Air India flights between Delhi and Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, as well as Mumbai to Frankfurt and London Heathrow.

When Can You Book?

Flights under this codeshare will be available soon, once regulatory approvals are completed, through the airlines’ booking channels.
