Revealing that he was suffering from discomfort in his hand, they said that the Canadian was due to undergo surgery on the issue and that he would then undergo a period of recovery. However, a BBC report claimed that there was more to the story. They reported that Stroll allegedly 'swore' at team members and broke equipment.

A spokesperson confirmed that Stroll was "upset" after exiting P2, but chief trackside officer, Mike Krack, labelled the details of the report "typical paddock gossip". Now, Stroll's race engineer has completely rejected claims that the driver swore at team members.

Commenting on a report of the story on Instagram, Harry Rush wrote: "Swore at team members? Absolutely not true."

Aston Martin confirmed that the injury and the outburst were not related. They had earlier confirmed Stroll's absence from the Barcelona event.

A statement read: "Over the course of the past six weeks, Lance has been experiencing pain in his hand and wrist, which his medical consultant believes is in relation to the procedure he underwent in 2023. As a result, his medical team have confirmed that he will not race tomorrow and he will undergo a procedure to rectify these issues before focusing on his recovery."

Stroll could miss his home Grand Prix on June 15. The son of the team's billionaire owner Lawrence, he has scored 14 of their 16 points in 2025.

Stewards handed Stroll a warning for not making his way to the weigh room straight after qualifying. A statement revealed: "We were given two documents, a medical report and a letter from the driver. In the letter, the driver explained that the reason for failing to immediately attend the weighing was because he was in pain and sought urgent medical attention for the pain.

"He attended the weigh-in and the media pen as soon as he was able to, before heading to the medical centre for further evaluation."
