Veteran actress Neena Gupta celebrated her 66th birthday this week in typical trailblazer style. The party was held on the sets of her new movie Metro In Dino, where Neena was not only conspicuous by her presence, but also by her bold fashion statement that soon had people talking online.

At the press conference, Neena was accompanied by her co-stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sensharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and director Anurag Basu. As the team discussed the most-awaited film, Neena hogged the limelight in a dramatic white ‘Rann Kaftan’ over a gold ‘Biscuit Bra’ that housed house charms an outfit from her daughter Masaba Gupta’s fashion brand, House of Masaba.

Fashion with Confidence and No Apologies

Though most fans loved Neena’s trendsetting look and complimented her for her confidence, a part of social media frowned upon her decision, saying she should “dress according to her age.” Yet her fans came in her support in no time. “Skin show & confidence is not the point here. It’s about her living her life on her own terms,” one user replied, standing up for the actress’s freedom to dress as she pleases.

Metro In Dino team celebrated Neena’s birthday with a touching gesture, gifting her a bouquet at the event. The movie, a thematic follow-up to Life In A… Metro, seems to suggest a mature love affair between Neena and Anupam Kher’s characters—something audiences would like to see explored on screen.
