Meerut: A horrifying incident of suspected honour killing has emerged from Partapur, Uttar Pradesh, where the decapitated body of a 17-year-old girl was found in a field located in Bahadurpur village. The victim, known as Aastha, also referred to as Tanishka, was a Class 12 student from Dadri, and her headless torso was discovered by authorities.
The police uncovered a note in the victim's pocket that contained a mobile number, which led them to a teenage boy residing in Nangli Sadharan.
This boy confirmed his friendship with Aastha and stated that they had been in regular communication. However, her family has been reluctant to identify the body, raising further suspicions.
The authorities have detained Aastha's mother, two brothers, two maternal uncles, and a cousin for questioning. Reports suggest that Aastha was involved in a relationship that her family disapproved of, which may have led to her tragic fate.
A senior police official indicated that the family has not been cooperative during the investigation, and their conflicting statements have intensified the scrutiny on them.
Aastha had been unaccounted for since Wednesday, yet her family did not file a missing person report. Her father, a CRPF officer, is currently stationed in Chhattisgarh.
The police are actively searching for Aastha's severed head, which has not yet been located at the crime scene. Forensic teams and local law enforcement are thoroughly examining the area for additional evidence.
This case has ignited public outrage, with calls for immediate justice. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the motive behind this heinous act and to piece together the events leading up to it.
