Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh’s madcap comedy-drama HOUSEFull 5 has earned Rs 24 crore at the box-office on Day 1, as per Sacilk. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film was released in two versions with different climaxes.

It had an occupancy of 28.88 % on Friday with night shows amounting to 45.65 %. HOUSEFull 5 has become the film with the highest opening in the franchise. The last part, minted Rs 19.08 crore on the first day while the third part earned Rs 15.23 crore.

The Film Also Stars Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir.

CE’s review of the film reads, “HOUSEFull 5 is a redux of sorts. It brings back the combined mess of the earlier parts and hides it under the layers of a scrappy murder-mystery. It is also timeless, much like how art should be. A hundred years from now, the film will still be as painful to watch unless the franchise spearheads into double digits to create its own competition.”
