New Delhi: The Indian team will start the new cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) with a five-match Test series against England. After Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired from Tests there is bound to be a change in the combination of the Indian team. It will be interesting to see how Indias top order looks against England. Rohit usually used to open while Kohli used to play at number four. Now it remains to be seen who the team management chooses for these two positions. Ricky Ponting has a different opinion about the opening order: KL Rahul opened the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal for India A in the second unofficial Test match against England Lions. Rahul strengthened his claim as an opening batsman by scoring a century. It is also believed that the same opening pair will play against England but former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has a different opinion about this. Ricky Ponting said what the top order will be like: In the ICC review Ponting said I think Sai Sudarshan and Yashasvi Jaiswal will open the innings in England. In my view Sudarshan is a brilliant player and technically I also think he can do well in Test cricket. India will have two young openers so it is possible that they may field an experienced player at number three. In this situation KL Rahul or Karun Nair can come at number three and Gill can come to bat at number four. As a young captain it would be better for him not to open or come at number three.
