Panaji: There was a stir in Goa’s largest government hospital when a senior doctor was accused of negligence in treatment and publicly dismissed him by the Health Minister himself. The matter increased further when its video went viral and outrage spread among the doctors. Dr. Rudresh Kurtikar was at the center of the entire controversy, which a journalist made serious allegations. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also had to intervene on this development and decided to restore the doctor. Now this issue has become a topic of discussion across the state.

After this decision taken by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, not only the medical community witnessed resentment, but also questions about the behavior of the minister on social media. The video of the action of the doctor being dismissed went viral, in which the minister was seen publicly reprimanding him. When the matter reached CM Pramod Sawant, he immediately reviewed and directed the doctor not to suspend. The incident is of Goa Medical College and Hospital, where on the complaint of a journalist, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane first suspended and then dismissed senior doctor Dr. Rudresh Kurtikar posted in the Emergency Ward. The journalist alleged that the doctor abused her mother -in -law and denied treatment. A video of the minister’s action came out in which he was seen reprimanding the doctor in a strict tone. After this, this incident on social media gained momentum and the matter caught fire.

CM Pramod Sawant gave clarification and decision

After deepening the dispute in the state, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant himself visited the hospital and reviewed the entire case. He clarified that Dr. Rudresh Kurtikar would not be suspended. The CM also said that the state government is committed to providing high quality health services to all citizens and fully respects the services of doctors. His decision brought relief to the medical community and the dispute was somewhat halted.
