With the help of Uttar Pradesh Police, Shillong Police detained Sonam Raghuvanshi from Ghazipur. He was then produced in Ghazipur district court, where the Shillong Police demanded a three -day transit remand. The court accepted it and allowed Sonam to be taken to Shillong.
When an accused is arrested from the state where the case is not registered, he has to take transit remand from the court of the state from where the arrest has been made. Its purpose is to take the accused to the state where the crime is registered.
While taking Sonam to Shillong, the police convoy was going from Ghazipur towards Buxar and towards Patna. During this time the convoy stopped for some time at Adarsh Nagar police station in Buxar. As soon as they reached the rural area after leaving here, the escort team of Bihar Police disappeared. As a result, the Shillong Police had to reach the team toll plaza alone.
In the absence of escort, Shillong Police had to return to the Adarsh Nagar police station in Buxar. From here, Sonam was taken to Patna once again, ensuring security. He will be taken from Patna to Guwahati via Kolkata, and then will be taken to Shillong by road. The flight from Patna to Kolkata is scheduled at 3:55 pm.
According to Shillong Police, Sonam Raghuvanshi along with her lover Raj Kushwaha conspired to assassinate King Raghuvanshi. He also contacted professional shooters to carry out the crime. Police believe that Sonam is required to be interrogated in Shillong to get to the bottom of the case.
