has shot down a fan who criticised his recent social media activity. An exit from Old Trafford this summer seems likely following the breakdown in the forward's relationship with boss Ruben Amorim.
Rashford's revival on loan at Aston Villa in the second half of last season was cut short prematurely due to a hamstring injury. He scored four goals and provided six assists in 17 appearances for the Villans, increasing his value after his stock shrank in the months before the switch to the Midlands. Rashford has now returned to United and seems set to leave over the coming months, but one fan was unhappy with his social media activity.
Taking to Instagram, the 27-year-old posted a photo of himself completing a rehabilitation exercise. "Feeling good," he wrote on the image, which was shared by supporters on X. One United fan, @kolkatatheke, fumed: "Every pre-season he does these photo shoots but then goes to see boxing matches halfway round the world days before important matches! Makes no sense if you are feeling good one month before the season starts."
Rashford provided the perfect put-down, responding: "I'm feeling good because I'm now injury-free, pal."
United seem unlikely to welcome Rashford back into the fold this summer. He was largely exiled from the club's matchday squads in the weeks leading up to his temporary departure to Villa.
A return to Villa has been mooted, although Rashford has stronger interest from abroad. Discussions over a move to Barcelona are reported to have taken place by the Spanish media. Sporting director Deco confirmed last month: "We like Luis [Diaz], we like Rashford, and we like other players. When we go to the market, there are names that we know and that could improve the team."
Whether Barca have the funds to meet United's reported £40m asking price for the England international remains to be seen. Both Milan clubs are also said to be interested in bringing him to Italy, while there are admirers from Saudi Arabia.
According to Spanish publication , Rashford is rejecting every offer that comes his way in favour of a transfer to Barca. His agent and brother, Dwaine Maynard, is said to have held talks with Deco in a Spanish hotel at the end of May.
Rashford's United career seems over, and any funds raised from his sale will likely be put towards an overhaul of Amorim's squad. Matheus Cunha has already arrived from Wolves and the Red Devils are now chasing Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo.
