Masterplan of Helmet Manufacturer Steelbird, 400 crores will be invested in the next 3 years

New Delhi : A big news is coming out about Steelbird Hitech India Limited, the biggest company in India. Steelbird has planned to set up a new factory and invest 400 crores in the coming 3 years at Capacity Examination. There is also a target to provide employment to 1,000 people in the current financial year.

Steelbird Managing Director Rajiv Kapoor gave this information on Thursday. He said that the company is preparing a new factory to build a helmet in Himachal Pradesh. Currently, he has 6 factories in Himachal Pradesh and 3 factories in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Kapoor has told reporters during the conference on the topic ‘Valnarbal Road Users and Road Safety’ here that the company plans to invest Rs 400 crore by FY 2027-28. This investment will be made in setting up a new factory in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh and expanding capacity.

He also said that the company will appoint 1,000 employees in the current financial year. Currently the company’s number of employees is 4,000. When asked about the source of the investment amount, he said that 25 percent amount will be raised through internal source while 75 percent will be raised through debt.

At present, 3 crore helmets are built in the organized sector in the country. The market share of Steelbird in this is about 30 percent. In response to another question, Kapoor said that currently the company’s authorized sales centers have 300, which is the target to increase to 1,000 in the next 3 years. These sales centers will be opened in different parts of the country. Earlier, Kapoor started the ‘Mission Save Lives 2.0 India’ at the conference, saying that every day there are many lives in India which could be saved from the use of certified helmets from Bureau of Indian Standards i.e. BIS.

Kapoor, who is also holding the responsibility of the President of the Helmet Manufacturers Association of India, has said that this campaign is a national resolution that we should make BSI certified helmets accessible, cheap and compulsory for children with every two wheeler rider and person sitting on the back seat.

He also demanded to reduce GST from 18 percent to 12 percent on the helmet. Kapoor has said that this mission demands to reduce GST from 18 percent to 12 percent on helmets and declare the helmet as necessary and life saving items, so that it can be cheaper and accessible for the common consumer.

Under this campaign, strict reforms have also been called in the license system. This includes strict adherence to BIS license holders at real-time verification and time-to-time audit, targeted raids and the rules to eliminate the framework of fake helmets.
