A heartbreaking incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when an Air India aircraft, en route from Ahmedabad to London, crashed in the Meghani Nagar area. Thick smoke was observed rising from the vicinity of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The flight was carrying 242 passengers at the time of the accident. Rescue teams are actively engaged in evacuation and firefighting efforts at the crash site. As of now, there have been no official reports regarding casualties or the causes of the crash.
Fire department vehicles have arrived at the scene, and emergency response teams are being deployed. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has communicated with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the Home Minister, and the Police Commissioner regarding the aircraft accident. He has also assured that assistance from the central government will be made available. The aircraft involved was an Air India Boeing Dreamliner 787, which has a capacity of 300 passengers. Given its destination to London, the plane was carrying a significant amount of fuel. Fire department vehicles, ambulances, and other emergency services are present at the location.
