In a shocking incident in Muzaffarnagar district, a 24-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her brother during a family dispute on Sunday. Authorities reported that the victim's relatives attempted to cremate her body to destroy evidence.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar, the crime took place in the village of Ukawali, located in the Budhana area. The woman's brother, Arjun, reportedly attacked her with a spade, resulting in her death.
Upon receiving a tip-off, police arrived at the scene and discovered family members secretly trying to conduct the cremation of the deceased.
Law enforcement officials recovered the partially burned body from the pyre and sent it for post-mortem examination. Kumar stated that a case has been registered against four family members, including the victim's father Kishanpal, brother Arjun, his friend, and cousin Saurabh, under sections 103 (murder) and 238 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code.
Kishanpal and Saurabh have been apprehended, while efforts are ongoing to capture the remaining suspects. The motives behind the murder are currently under investigation.
