Dharamshala: Following a period of soaring temperatures, the weather in Himachal Pradesh has taken a welcome turn for the better. Since Monday night, regions including Kullu and Manali have been experiencing consistent rainfall, providing much-needed respite from the recent heatwave.

The rain, which commenced late Monday, has significantly lowered temperatures. Manali, which recorded a high of 27°C on Monday, saw the mercury drop to a comfortable 20°C by Tuesday morning after receiving 20 mm of rain. Similarly, Kullu's temperatures have also decreased, now resting around 17°C.

Other popular tourist destinations such as Shimla, Kufri, Kasauli, and Dharamshala have also reported a similar drop in temperature. The weather department has indicated that rainfall is expected to persist across various regions of the state for the next five days.

This rainfall has not only alleviated the heat for residents but has also sparked excitement among tourists. A significant number of visitors have already arrived in Manali and are making their way to Rohtang Pass today, hoping to witness fresh snowfall.

Just a few days prior, temperatures in Kullu and Manali had reached as high as 33°C, creating unusually warm conditions for this time of year. The current rainfall has provided a refreshing change and renewed enthusiasm for travelers seeking cooler weather and scenic snow views.

Tourism officials believe that this change in weather is likely to further increase visitor numbers in the region as summer travelers seek to escape the heat of the plains.
