Tehran: As aerial assaults between the two countries continued overnight on Wednesday, the sixth day of the conflict, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a warning to Israel, stating that Tehran would ruthlessly respond against Israel’s attacks.
“We have to respond forcefully to the Zionist terrorist administration.” On X, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei wrote in English, “We will not be lenient toward the Zionists.”
In the meanwhile, the head of Iran’s military issued a warning about impending “punitive operations” against Israel.
“Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces: The operations carried out so far have been a warning for deterrence, and punitive operations will be forthcoming,” the IRNA News Agency said on X.
An “urgent warning” was issued by the Israel Defense Forces urging residents of Tehran, Iran’s District 18 to leave.
“In the coming hours, the IDF will operate in the area–just as it has over the past few days throughout Tehran–to strike military infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime,” the statement said.
“To all civilians, for your safety and well-being, we urge you to evacuate immediately from the marked area in District 18,” said the message.
Early on Wednesday morning local time, the Israel Defense Forces said that it had detected further missiles fired from Iran.
This follows the recent reports of several projectile hits in the nation’s Central, Southern, and Coastal sectors.
“The public is instructed to enter a protected space and remain there until further notice,” the Israel Defense Forces said.
Projectiles are being repelled by Iran’s air defenses above Tehran, according to Mehr News Agency, a semi-official Iranian news agency.
The agency’s X website included a video of lights in the sky as the city echoed with explosions.
Israel Katz, the Israeli Defense Minister, said that Israel intends to hit important sites in Tehran. According to an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) official, Israel’s air force is also aiming for ballistic launching locations near Isfahan.
Israel began “a widespread cyber war” on Iranian digital infrastructure, according to Iran’s Cyber Security Command. The IDF also reported hearing explosions over Tel Aviv and identifying a fresh wave of incoming missiles launched from Iran.
Israel’s Government Press Office (GPO) reports that since the battle started, at least 2,725 individuals have been forced to leave their homes.
According to the authorities, there are still 24 people dead in Israel as of Tuesday, while over 647 people have been wounded. Since fighting started on Friday, at least 224 people have died in Iran.
Amid rising tensions with Israel, US President Donald Trump called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender” on Tuesday (local time).
Trump claimed that “we” now have “complete and total control of the skies over Iran” and that “we know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding” in a string of tweets on Truth Social. He tweeted “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” after warning that “our patience is wearing thin.”
Trump said, “We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran” on his “Truth Social” social media account. ” Iran possessed a lot of excellent sky trackers and other defensive gear, but it isn’t comparable to the things that the United States has designed, developed, and produced. “The good ol’ USA does it better than anybody else,” he said in a post.
“We have a clear idea of where the ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. Although he is secure there, he is an easy target. For the time being, at least, we will not murder him. However, neither American troops nor civilians should be targeted by missiles. “We’re running out of patience,” he said.
His comments were made six days after Israel started hitting Iran, and both sides are still firing at one another. Iran issued evacuation warnings in Haifa and Tel Aviv, while there have been rumors of more explosions in Tehran. A lot of Iranians are attempting to escape Tehran.
Tehran has responded with retaliatory assaults after Israel conducted a slew of airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear installations. Trump has made it plain that Iran must not be permitted to build nuclear weapons and has been outspoken in his support of Israel.
