Indore (Madhya Pradesh): To ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply, West Discom undertook large-scale maintenance operation on Tuesday.
According to City Superintending Engineer Dilip Kumar Gathe, more than 500 electricity feeders have already been serviced from May till June 16.
Managing director Anoop Kumar Singh said that a total of 1,650 personnel have been deployed as part of this initiative to enhance the effectiveness of transformer maintenance and overall power reliability.
The city currently houses over 13,000 transformers, and those identified under high-priority categories are being serviced with detailed checks.
These include oil level inspections, preventive maintenance, jumper repairs, load balancing, and trimming of tree branches near power lines. Maintenance of low-tension lines is also being carried out simultaneously.
On the first day of the campaign, maintenance was completed on 175 transformers and their associated lines. Gathe informed that the drive will continue on a regular basis to minimize potential disruptions during the monsoon season and to significantly improve the quality of power supply across Indore.
