Let us know that the last section of Bairabi-Sarerang Broad- Girabi-Sairyng Line, which is spread from Horatoki to Sairang for 33.86 km, has now been approved by the Railway Safety Commissioner. Somewhere the 51.38 km long project has achieved a historical achievement by connecting Aizawl to the country through rail. This rail route will not only facilitate the journey for the people of Mizoram but will also work to give new pace to regional connectivity and social, economic development.
The CRS conducted a thorough inspection of the rail route connecting Aizawl from 6 to 10 June 2025. During this period, 45, 50, 80 and 110 kilometers per hour tested, which proved the location and security of the track. Now this railroad is ready to operate passengers and freight trains at a speed of 90 km per hour on the main line.
The inspection report will soon be submitted to the Ministry of Railways, after which the route will be formalized. It was very challenging to construct this railroad in the hilly areas.
