Singer Adnan Sami rose to fame in India in the late 90s and his songs became chartbusters. He was then a Pakistani citizen, but in May 2015, he submitted a request for Indian citizenship, which was approved in December 2015, and from January 1, 2016, Sami has been an Indian citizen. Recently, during an interview, while talking the debate on his citizenship, the singer called Pakistan his ex-lover. While talking to Bollywood Bubble, Sami said, “It’s like—it’s like an ex-lover. It’s a good analogy. You know, when an ex-lover sees you moving on and getting involved with somebody else, they’ll always come up with reasons to hate you. But the real reason they do that is because they still haven’t gotten over you, and it’s love—it’s still love. And love manifests in many absurd ways. You could even say… but the point is, I understand, somewhere, the psyche of how they feel.”The singer further stated that they (Pakistan) don't know the circumstances that made him change his citizenship. He said that there were solid reasons behind it. Sami further said, "At the end of the day, you can argue and say, ‘Well, people are migrating all over the world all the time—why don’t they have issues with them?’ First of all, because of the geopolitical nature between India and Pakistan, so there’s that rivalry, for whatever reason, we all know. But more than that, it’s the ex-lover syndrome.”Adnan Sami Songs In the late 90s and early 2000s, Adnan Sami's songs used to be very popular. His music videos used to feature top Bollywood celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda, Raveena Tandon, Rani Mukerji, and others. The singer's new song, titled Aao Na, featuring Avinash Mishra and Eisha Singh was released a few days ago, and it has been getting a good response.
