New Delhi: The Indian team performed brilliantly in the first innings of the first Test match against England and scored 471 runs. Captain Shubman Gill opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and vice-captain Rishabh Pant scored centuries for India. Gill and Pant shared a big partnership of 209 runs for the fourth wicket which helped India cross the 450-run mark.
7 wickets lost after scoring 112 runs:
India started the second day at 359 for three but after the lunch break the entire team was all out for 471 runs. India lost its remaining seven wickets on Saturday after adding 112 runs. If India could not touch the 500-run mark the credit goes to Ben Stokes and Josh Tongue who bowled brilliantly on the second day. During this the weather also supported the fast bowlers as most of the time the conditions were overcast. The disappointing thing for India is that despite three batsmen scoring centuries the team could not touch the 500-run mark.
Sachin Tendulkar posted on social media:
Former Indian team batsman Sachin Tendulkar noticed one thing about Gill and Pants partnership. Sachin told that Gill and Pant were talking in Hindi during the spell of England spinner Shoaib Bashir. He told what was the strategy behind this of these two batsmen. Sachin wrote on X Rishabhs falling paddle sweep is not accidental. It is done deliberately and very cleverly. Going down with the shot gives him a chance to scoop it over leg slip with control.

Also noticed something interesting during Bashir’s spell. Shubman and Rishabh were…
