But when you claim insurance and the insurance company rejects your claim, it definitely becomes a problem. If despite your repeated demands, the company is rejecting your claim, you can complain against them. Every insurance company has a grievance redressal officer, but if there is no solution to your problem, then other options are also present.
If your insurance company is repeatedly rejecting your claim, you can contact the Grievance Redressal Officer. For this, you can go to the nearest branch or file your complaint through online mail. Often, such complaints are resolved at the company level itself.
If your problem is not resolved even after contacting the Grievance Redressal Officer, then you can file a complaint in IRDA. Usually, the insurance company has to take action on your complaint within 15 days. If this does not, you can file your complaint by visiting the official website of IRDA or calling the helpline number.
If IRDA also does not solve your problem, you can contact the insurance Lokpal. Insurance Lokpal is present at 17 places in India. By going there, you can file a complaint against the insurance company. For this, you have to fill Form P-II and P-III in the office of insurance Lokpal.
