New Delhi: A recent leak suggests that Samsung will significantly increase the RAM of its next Galaxy S26 family of phones. The new flagship line-up, probably the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra, might all feature 16GB of RAM in all markets. It is a big improvement over the Galaxy S25 range, which only has the Ultra model with 16GB RAM, but only available in certain markets such as Korea and China.
This update may enable better Galaxy AI capabilities and provide a more fluid experience when multitasking and gaming. In the meantime, Apple is also said to be ready to increase RAM in the next series of its iPhones. The iPhone 17 is also expected to be introduced with 12 GB of RAM, which will be an improvement over the 8 GB that is present in the current iPhone 16.
Macquarie expects that the RAM capacity of the Galaxy S series will increase to 16GB in 2026.

According to tipster Jukan Choi, who references Macquarie Research, Samsung intends to install Galaxy S26 in all variants with 16GB RAM. This would put Samsung on the same playing field with certain Chinese smartphone manufacturers who already have smartphones with up to 24 GB of RAM. The added memory may also enable Samsung to further maximise the performance of Galaxy AI and stay in touch with the increasing need for high-efficiency mobile computing.
Apple, which has been slower to update its hardware, seems to be closing the gap. iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max will also have 12GB of RAM. In case it is true, it would make the 2025 iPhones more competitive regarding multitasking and work-demanding tasks. This configuration of 12GB could be kept in the iPhone 18 series, planned in 2026.
