Shefali Jariwala best known for her iconic role in the early 2000s music video Kaanta Laga passed away at the age of 42 following a sudden cardiac arrest. She was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai where doctors declared her “brought dead.” Her husband actor Parag Tyagi was reportedly with her at the time. She charmed audiences across videos reality shows and films. Her debut Bollywood role came in 2004’s Mujhse Shaadi Karogi alongside Salman Khan Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. Shefali Jariwala in Hudugaru But Shefali didn’t stop there. She crossed linguistic boundaries and appeared in the Kannada film Hudugaru (2011) starring the late Puneeth Rajkumar. In it she dazzled as a dancer in the popular number “Pankaja” which featured lyrics by Yogaraj Bhat and vocals from Mamatha Sharma V. Harikrishna and Naveen Madhav. Hudugaru tells the tale of three friends with divergent dreams whose lives spiral when their friend attempts to elope with a wealthy businessman’s daughter. The movie Hudugaru (released in 2011) grossed Rs 9 crores at the box office. Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare a separate film with a similar title grossed Rs 11.33 crores in India (net) and Rs 13.4 crores worldwide according to Sacnilk.
