The election process in India has become even more modern. Bihar has become the first state in the country to allow e-voting through mobile apps in the municipal elections. Giving this information on Friday, State Election Commissioner Deepak Prasad said that this new facility has been implemented in six city councils of Patna, Rohtas and East Champaran from today.
Its main objective is to include those who do not reach the polling station for some reason, such as elderly, disabled, pregnant women or migrant voters.
This advanced e-voting system is based on blockchain technology and face recognition, which not only strengthens security but also makes the entire process transparent and hack-proof.
Windows 10 users beware! No update will be received after October 2025
Currently, this e-voting system is limited to municipal elections only. But if this pilot project is successful, then it can also be implemented in the upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
