New Delhi: Actor and model Shefali Jariwala’s death news has swept a wave of grief through the entertainment industry. Aged 42, the late star was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai late on Friday night (June 27), where she was declared dead on arrival. Although cardiac arrest has been speculated as the cause, no official statement has yet been issued by her family or representatives.
Best known for her electrifying screen presence in the iconic 2002 music video Kaanta Laga, Shefali had become a household name overnight. Over the years, she continued to win hearts through reality shows such as Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss 13. Her passing is being mourned deeply by friends and colleagues.
Singer Mika Singh expressed disbelief, writing on Instagram, “I’m deeply shocked, saddened, and feeling a heavy heart… Our beloved star and my dearest friend @shefalijariwala has left us. Still can’t believe it. You will always be remembered for your grace, smile, and spirit. Om Shanti.”
Actor Himanshi Khurana, who had shared the Bigg Boss stage with Shefali, wrote poignantly, “Bigg Boss that place is cursed I think.” Fellow contestant Tehseen Poonawalla echoed the sentiment, saying, “Absolutely stunned to hear my friend Shefali Jariwala is no more… Incredible how Sidharth Shukla and now she from my season are no more. Sending love and healing to her loved ones! Om Shanti.”
Actress Kamya Punjabi shared, “I can’t get over this news…my heart is sinking. Shefali,” accompanied by a broken heart emoji. Meanwhile, Kishwer Merchant wrote, “Lying in bed with a very heavy heart! RIP Shefali, gone too soon!”
Actor-comedian Kiku Sharda, who worked with her on web shows, reminisced, “She was full of energy, full of life, always greeted all with a big, bright smile. Will miss you, Shefali, you were a beautiful soul.”
Tributes were also paid by Rajiv Adatia, Aly Goni, and the All Indian Cine Workers Association, whose statement read, “Gone too soon at just 42 due to a sudden heart attack. May her soul rest in peace, and may God give strength to her family during this heartbreaking time.”
